Cookies Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This Cookies Policy explains what cookies are, how WEGO uses them on wegodelivery.app and our mobile applications, and how you can control them. By using our platform, you agree to the use of cookies in accordance with your preferences as expressed in our consent banner.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide reporting information. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage, pixel tags) serve comparable purposes — we use the term "cookies" throughout this policy to mean any of them.
2. The categories we use
Essential cookies (always on)
Required for the platform to function. These store your session, route you to the correct restaurant, hold your cart, remember your locale, and enable secure checkout. You cannot opt out of these without the platform breaking.
Examples: sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token (Supabase Auth); wego-cart (cart contents); NEXT_LOCALE (language).
Functional cookies (off by default)
Remember your preferences and improve your experience: saved addresses, dietary filters, recently viewed restaurants, theme choice. Turning these off means we can't remember your preferences between visits.
Examples: wego-prefs (filter preferences); wego-recent (recently viewed).
Analytics cookies (off by default)
Help us understand how customers use the platform — which pages are popular, where users drop off, how new features perform. Aggregated and anonymised; never used to identify you. Off by default until you accept.
Examples: _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics 4 — only loaded if you accept analytics).
3. Third-party services
Some of our service providers set their own cookies when you use parts of the platform. We list them here:
- Stripe — when you pay; required for fraud protection (essential)
- Supabase — when authenticated; session tokens (essential)
- Google Analytics 4 — only if you accept analytics (analytics)
- Google Maps — when viewing the delivery map; loaded only after you allow location (functional)
4. Managing your preferences
You can change your preferences at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Your choice is stored locally on your device — clearing your browser's site data will reset it and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit.
You can also block cookies entirely through your browser settings. Note that blocking essential cookies will break login and checkout. See your browser's documentation for instructions.
5. Your GDPR rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of personal data we collect through cookies. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of rights and how to exercise them. /legal/privacy.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
